Many people use CBD to relieve anxiety, stress, sleep issues, and promote overall wellness. But the key question, how to measure CBD, remains unanswered for many of them. Of some debate, however, is how much CBD is the right quantity for each individual. The simple answer is there is no “right quantity” of CBD. Similar to almost everything else, each person will have different measurement requirements based on unique factors like their metabolism, biochemistry, age, weight, and natural tolerance to CBD oil due to their endocannabinoid system. Until now, the only way to find the right quantity for your needs was through trial and error; however, now there’s an accurate and scientific way of proper measuring of your CBD oil to find your perfect quantity.

Which Is Better for CBD Oil – A Teaspoon or a Dropper

The delivery method matters. With CBD oil, people tend to either use a teaspoon or a medical dropper.

A Dropper or Pipette for CBD Oil

Measuring CBD

The dropper is a glass tube that delivers a specific amount. It has a rubber bulb at the top, which uses air pressure to draw and release the liquid. The most common uses for these types of droppers are children’s liquid medication or prescription eye drops. The original name, Pasteur pipette, comes from the French scientist Louis Pasteur, who discovered the concept of vaccination and used “droppers” in his experiments to ensure the purity and exact amount of chemical compounds.

How to Use a Dropper

Unmarked dropper no measurementsThe dropper is a fairly straightforward instrument for measuring small amounts of liquid. But the trickiest part of measuring CBD is seeing how much liquid is in the glass tube and how much to release.

That’s why GREENPATH™ invented the Exclusive Milligram Calibrated Dropper with a sliding green memory band. CBD is calibrated in milligrams, not milliliters. Only our dropper will give you an accurate measurement.

The exclusive GREENPATH™ Calibrated Dropper comes with clear demarcations to make measuring as clear and easy as possible.

What Is a Tincture?

A tincture is an extraction of plant-matter that is infused into oil or another liquid. The herbal mixture is strained and all that remains is a concentrated liquid or “tincture.” Tinctures are made from one single plant or a combination of either fresh or dried leaves. Herbal tinctures can be found everywhere, including the health food aisle of grocery stores or purchased online. A CBD tincture, for example, is a combination of cannabinoids, the non-psychoactive components of hemp, combined with a carrier oil.

How to Use a Tincture

Because the tincture is a concentrate, you need to be very careful about quantity, that’s why using a measured dropper is very important. If you’re new to CBD, start with 4mg of your tincture and put it under your tongue before you go to sleep. Increase the amount of milligrams taken each night by 2 to 4 mg, depending on how you feel.

Remember, it’s about finding the right quantity for you.

About CBD Tincture

In addition to a tincture being the most accurate method for ingesting CBD, it is also the most popular. CBD tinctures have a longer shelf life than other ingestible items so that makes it more convenient for storage. Tinctures can last for years if stored in a cool dry place.

A tincture, is taken sublingually (under the tongue), which minimizes breakdown from digestive enzymes. They can also be applied topically if users are only looking to treat a certain area (i.e., an inflamed or sore joint).

About GREENPATH™ Measured CBD System

The exclusive Greenpath™ measured system will guide you through any uncertainty regarding how much to take. Each box contains a calibrated dropper and 1,000mg concentration tincture of the highest quality organically grown, full-spectrum, CBD oil. All Greenpath™ CBD oil is lab certified (third party certificate of analysis provided with each order), which ensures the highest quality ingredients and concentration.

The CBD industry is rife with low-quality and mislabeled products, so always look for a certificate of analysis when purchasing CBD oil. The certificate of analysis is a document from an accredited laboratory that shows the nature of cannabinoids that is in each batch of CBD. When your health and well-being are concerned, it is essential to double-check for quality. Greenpath™ also provides an easy-to-use log to record results, so you can track your success and wellness.

How to Use CBD

Twice daily, measure out the precise amount that your doctor has recommended. Distribute the oil under your tongue and hold the liquid there for at least 60 seconds. Increase the amount of CBD incrementally every two days. Record any effects that you notice in your log. Everyone reacts differently, so monitoring the results is crucial to providing the most benefit.

You may not notice anything at first, but keep in mind that both the higher and lower quantities are not as beneficial as the “right” amount.

It can take up to two hours for some people to feel the effects of the oil. If you are having trouble with measuring, be patient; it may take several days before finding the amount that is just right for you. Be consistent with your quantity. If you experience any unpleasant effects, then stop taking immediately.

The correct quantity of CBD

Finding the correct quantity for you in an incremental fashion is important for a couple of reasons. First, if you’re taking more than you need to for the desired effect, you are going through your tincture faster and wasting money when a smaller quantity could be just as beneficial. Second, you may develop a higher tolerance over time and need to adjust the quantity again to achieve the desired effect. Give yourself time to figure out how it affects you, and don’t increase your quantity dramatically from day to day.

Also, don’t forget to keep track of your quantity and use our calibrated dropper to accurately measure.

With so many brands available on the market it can be difficult to know what type of CBD oil is best for you and the amount you need to achieve the desired effect. Each person will have a different ideal quantity depending on their unique biochemistry and needs.

The Greenpath Measured CBD System contains high-quality, organic CBD oil and accompanying dropper system so you can measure and track your results. Finding the right amount of CBD oil for your own health needs will require some trial and error. Our logbook and calibrated dropper will help assure accuracy and promote cost savings (no more overspending).

About Bart E. Greenhut

I’m a 73 year old, inventor/entrepreneur. I haven't worked for someone else since I was 19. The first product that I ever developed was chosen as one of the 100 most important products developed in the world the year that I developed it. (This was in the late 1960’s) Since then, I've developed things like impact recorders employed to monitor the transport of sensitive products (from art objects to power transformers), temperature recorders to monitor the shipment of perishables, and a derailment detector that’s employed to stop derailments before they become catastrophic. They’re used on many commuter systems around America, such as B.A.R.T. in San Francisco and the Metro in Washington D.C.. In 1985-6 I developed a disposable, “no-touch” poop scooper and then several lines of natural, nutritional treats for dogs and cats.
